While having to spend time in hospital is never a great experience the Geraldton hospital staff made it as enjoyable as it could be.

I attended with a broken hand and left with a cast which extended over my knuckles. The fracture clinic doctor would only sign off for light duties which specified "use of left hand only". Ironically, the very certificate he issued to protect my hand has forced me into driving my manual car one handed...

My wife was admitted to the emergency department on Wed evening 6th Sept 2017. The service she received from admission to discharge (approx 7 hours) was friendly, caring and professional. Our special thanks to the nurses on duty and especially Doctor Ben Burford who was very thorough in his medical assessment, friendly and professional. My wife was especially pleased when Doctor Ben Burford followed up twice over the next 2 days (to see how she was progressing) after we had returned to Perth. My wife is slowly on the improve but will take a another few weeks to get back to full health.

The surgeons explained to me what was need and the risks which helped calm my nerves., Of course it is the nurses that provide the on going care and they were superb from the first nurse who looked after me prior to surgery to the ward nurse then on to the discharge nurse all were kind and professional and had a sense of humour.

I recently had a large abcess cut out of my back at the Geraldton hospital. The abcess became apparent while in Kalgoorlie and I was given temp treatment until I reached Geraldton I was referred to the Geraldton hospital by the Mt Magnet Nursing post who performed most of the temp treatment. I reported to the GH ED as soon as possible on my arrival in Geraldton. From the time I walk into the ED I was treated with kindness and respect. The staff from the doctors down to the orderly conducted themselves in a professional manner.

My husband Peter was admitted to the emergency department in July with chest pain after collapsing at his work place. He was taken to ED the prognosis was not looking good for him. I cannot praise all the staff in the ED. There are to many to remember. These people are our hero's. He was diagnosed with an aorta anurism, which 1 in 5 survive. He is truely one of the lucky ones. Again I cannot thank the staff at Geraldton Hospital.
